I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I knew the religious aspect might not fly so well with some, but the bigger picture made the religious voice irrelevant.
I love and miss you too!

But, seriously, aren't you taking it out on the pedestrian? "“Hey, Dude with the yellow Angelia Jolie style sunglasses, hairy shoulders, white tank top, and lisp!..." He's so nice, trying to take the blame - as if he had much choice, the way bus doors work and due to the fact that the bus driver is waiting to take off.

I've been knocked down or nearly knocked down too many times by bicyclists on sidewalks, running red lights, and ignoring pedestrians in crosswalks. Recovering from surgery, I find cyclists whizzing by me with cm to spare really disturbing because if you surprise me, startle me, I'm liable to fall over. I'm a former cyclist, I've cycled all over the world. And cyclists need to own up to the fact that they are on METAL, riding FAST, and can do injury to people.

Thank you so much for this article. While I didn't need the JDBC stuff the JPA/Hibernate information was helpful.

The one suggestion I have is that the example class being persisted would have been better if it had more than one field (the id field).

And my only "negative" comment is that some things weren't explained enough but I'm also very new to Maven 2 and Hibernate so things I didn't understand right away were things you just learn over time with using Maven and Hibernate.

Thanks again.

I get what you mean, where was an editor? Bobby Shaftoe had the potential to be a great character. His reckless attitude and morphine addiction provided some interesting plot points that could have been exploited better. Stephenson also has a fault of relying on the classic "deux ex machina" bail-out, as evidenced by the mere existence of Enoch Root. You should read the Baroque Cycle by Stephenson, it's three books long, but ultimately a better read.
